The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has issued a warning stating it has no connection with various online gambling sites that are falsely claiming to hold an MGA licence.
The authority clarified that any mentions of an MGA licence on these platforms are deceptive and incorrect. The sites identified include: nagacash9x.com, nagacash9b.homes, nagacash9b.beauty, nagacash9b.online, and ebet.agency/en/faq.
In its announcement, the MGA urged the public to verify the licensing status of gambling operators before engaging with their services. It emphasised that licensed operators must comply with strict legal standards designed to safeguard consumers.
In contrast, unlicensed platforms operate without regulatory control, leaving players exposed to potential dangers like unfair gameplay and financial risk.
This alert comes alongside recent regulatory updates from the MGA, which noted a decline in the number of gaming licences granted in 2023 and a rise in enforcement actions. The authority also continues to build international partnerships, including recent cooperation agreements with the UK Gambling Commission, aimed at reinforcing cross-border regulatory collaboration.
