Massachusetts greenlights regulated mobile wagering

Half a dozen sports wagering operators have launched their mobile betting offerings in Massachusetts.

Following the state’s regulated retail betting market launch back in late January, this latest announcement will expand its scope to the mobile wagering vertical. Six companies will deliver their services on its launch day, including BetMGM, DraftKings, FanDuel, and WynnBet.

The state’s regulated sports wagering market was first announced back in August of 2022, since which 15 companies have submitted their applications before the deadline of the 21st of November. Out of the applicants, a dozen firms had applied for a mobile wagering category 3 license, half of which were standalone certifications not tethered to retail or horse racing venue ones.

We are delighted to expand our wagering operations in Massachusetts into the mobile betting vertical. This launch will also enhance our local retail wagering establishment’s offerings at MGM Springfield, which will enable us to further expand our presence in the States.

stated the Chief Executive of BetMGM, Adam Greenblatt.

Following our entry into the regulated gambling market in Massachusetts, we are excited to have this opportunity to expand our reach into the online vertical. Players in the state will be able to bet on the numerous exciting wagering opportunities offered by our mobile betting application and will be able to take advantage of our Wynn Rewards program, which will sync with our retail establishment to provide a seamless betting experience.

remarked the President of Wynn Sports Interactive, Ian Williams.

Massachusetts has some of America’s most passionate sports fans, and we are thrilled to be able to offer them our top-quality mobile wagering opportunities. We are certain that local players will be quite fond of our services.

commented the Chief Commercial Officer of FanDuel, Mike Raffensperger.

FanDuel went above and beyond for its mobile wagering debut in Massachusetts by partnering with a local hockey team, Boston Bruins, aiming to deliver standout experiences for the sport’s fans.
